Center,
and pianist Ana Queirós, has performed in several festivals and concert halls
throughout Portugal, England, Italy, France and Brazil, with a wide range of repertoire,
from the Barroque period to XXI century compositions, dedicating special attention to
Portuguese repertoire. Besides the evident pleasure, involvement and harmonious
interpretations of Portuguese works, Doppio Ensemble feels the need to support
and promote works and composers of their country. Since their beginning, the Doppio
Ensemble has premiered numerous new pieces, many of those specifically dedicated
to the duo.
Combining tradition/innovation makes the distinguishing characteristic of the Doppio
Ensemble, which has also influenced the choice and design of the duo´s logo: “Viana´s
heart” symbolizes the double essence and identity of the musicians and the project.
The Doppio Ensemble often collaborates with other musicians, allowing a larger
variety of repertoire. In its constant search of new challenges and eclectic sonorities,
the duo frequently enjoys playing jazz, bossa nova and world music. They have
recorded for RDP Antena 2 and Porto Canal.
