Dulce Felix is giving the opening address at the upcoming Proud to be Portuguese Canadian event happening Saturday, October 19th, in Toronto.

The theme for the event is “From Portugal to the Americas, the artistic vein in our community”. Dulce Felix will lead the afternoon of artists that join the program including Nancy Dutra, Suzana d´Amour, Louis Simão, Sonia Tavares, Teresa Ascenção, Jordan Duarte, Rick Gomes, Paulino Nunes, Sandy Duarte, Ruben Tavares, and others.

The event is at Measure, 296 Brunswick Avenue (near Bloor St.) in downtown Toronto. Doors open at 2:30pm and presentations go until 6pm. Free entrance. All are welcome.

Dulce Felix came to Canada from Ribatejo at the age of 18. In due time, became a teacher of ESL, a social worker, a certified Interpreter/Translator, and eventually a Case Manager/Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant for WSIB and Insurance cases.
The career in film only began in her thirties… and has since had roles in award-wining films and films that have screened at international film festivals, including Cannes. Dulce is co-producing the series Out of Time to be released in 2014, which has caught the attention of an established production company to be developed into a theatrical feature film. This project has won producers the honour of being invited to be part of the Canadian Delegation to the Hong Kong Film Festival 2013. She also produced the Nicolau Breyner live events in Toronto and Ottawa.
Dulce is currently working with Rick Gomes (another Portuguese actor and producer) to develop her own feature aiming at promoting the lesser known Portuguese towns in Ribatejo and is in idea development for another series with another producer.
