The Group of Seven (May 7, 1920)

<div><br /></div> <div><br />Commemorating  the group's first exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada, May 7th, 1920. "The newly formed group of artists were jointly driven to depict the Canadian scene through distinctly Canadian eyes, and this developed into our country's first real art movement."   <br /></div> <div><br /></div> <div><br /></div> <div><br /></div> <div><img src="http://img.rtp.pt/icm//thumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/cb/cbb2ba4e40ee84d15802d2306f34153d&w=420&sx=0&sy=0&sw=252&sh=200&q=75 " /></div>

The original seven artists included Franklin Carmichael 1890-1945), Lawren Harris 1885-1970), Arthur Lismer 1885-1969), Franz Johnston (1888-1949), J. E.H. MacDonald(1873 – 1932), Fred Varley (1881-1969)  and A. Y. Jackson. (1882 -1974),  A. J. Casson (1898-1992)  replaced Franz Johnston in 1926 and L. L. Fitzgerald (1890 – 1956) and Edwin Holgate (1892-1977) joined in their last year.
